Community Enterprises Development Organization (CEDO)
Community Enterprises Development Organization (CEDO) is a member-based, indigenous non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 2000. CEDO was started to focus on the implementation of grassroots development needs identified by the beneficiaries. CEDO is registered by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and operates in the south western and central regions of Uganda in the districts of Masaka, Rakai, Lyantonde, Bukomansimbi, Lwengo, Kalungu, Kyotera, Sembabule, Kiboga, Mubende, Mityana and Kassanda. CEDO was formed in August, 2.000 and registered as a non governmental organization Ministry of Internal affairs no SN 3375, CEDO is a membership organization.
CEDO is a fully-fledged registered seed company moving over 100 metric tons of bean seed annually, CEDO engages more than 5,000 farming households within 9 districts in central and southern Uganda. We are a membership agricultural enterprise based in Kalisizo Town Council – Kyotera District (Central Uganda) that began as a community seed producing group focusing on Engaging members in bean seed production, collective marketing and sale to seed processors. We work with partners to support smallholder farmers to access, quality affordable bean seed materials and produce sustainably to earn an income while ensuring food & nutrition security.

CEDO Objectives
To improve access to adequate food in the area of operation among vulnerable households and marginalized community members.
To strengthen the productive and marketing capacity of individuals and groups engaged in the formal and informal cooperative groupings.
To introduce high yielding/disease resistant planting materials so that people can have alternative cash earners to traditional cash crops like coffee.
To build the institutional capacities of farmer groups so that they can operate on sound leadership principles, effective marketing systems and further diversify their income generating enterprises.
To raise the nutritional status of families affected by HIV and AIDS.
To raise awareness among community members on environmental issues, gender and mitigation measures at community and national level through networking with research institutions.
